Ia'orana!

Welcome to Kimo's Mo'orea MBQ website. Kimo was one of the four teaching assistants for the UCLA Marine Biology Quarter (MBQ) which took place at the UC Berkeley Gump Research Station in Mo'orea, French Polynesia from April through June, 2004. Please forgive the emphasis on pictures of Kimo. This site was initially designed for Jade Hiraki Morris, Kimo's four-year-old daughter, who had a difficult time with her Daddy being gone so long. However, many of the MBQ students expressed interest in sending their friends and families to this site as well. So I hope you all enjoy the image galleries.

The students had two weeks of intensive instruction on the UCLA campus starting April 5th, after which the students spent the next 8 weeks on the island of Mo'orea. Kimo and fellow teaching assistant Chris accompanied the students and professors for the first four weeks of the expedition. The images in the galleries are from the first four weeks only. If students wish it, other areas can be added to this site.

The first image gallery is of general pictures of Mo'orea, the Gump Research Station, and our one-day visit to Pape'ete, Tahiti. The second image gallery is specifically of research photos, scuba diving, and organisms that we encountered in Mo'orea. Please let me know what you think!
