The night-feeding shoulderbar soldier fish (Myripristis kuntee). The Hawaiian name is "u'u" because of the characteristic grunting sound these fish make. Notice the fish in the middle has a distinct yellow dorsal fin... This is a new species recently described by Dr. Jack Randall of the Hawaii Bishop Museum. |
